There are two weeks left until the Romanian referendum for the definition of family and liberals are already in panic mode, accusing everybody of racism, homophobia, bigotry and intolerance. The biggest insults are against the Orthodox Church, of course, because the church is the biggest supporter of the traditional family.
Last year, the Romanian Orthodox Church has collected some three million signatures in favour of a referendum that would redefine the meaning of the family, a law project rejected two times without a convincing explanation by the Romanian President Klaus Iohannis, but finally brought to light after a fierce battle in Parliament and in the court of public opinion.
The previous article of the Romanian Constitution stated that
family is built on the marriage of two freely consenting parents
The new project states that
family is built on the marriage of a freely consenting man and woman
In the upcoming referendum of 7-8 October, people will have the chance to respond to the following question:
Do you agree with the law for the revision of the constitution proposed by the Parliament?
The choice of answer will be between yes or no.
This referendum seems to be too much for the sensitive liberals who can’t stand anybody challenging their politically correct world view. And they would do anything to stop it; from calling for a boycott, to mocking it, to complaining about the high cost of the referendum (164 million lei or about 41 million American dollars).
Now people might wonder which side am I on. Of course, I am for the traditional family. And I don’t feel like apologizing to anybody for my opinion.
